Muay Thai, the science of eight limbs
Muay Thai is Thailand's national martial art and sport. It has been around for over 2000 years and was created to defend the King. The old style (Muay Boran) was often practiced and fighters used to wrap their hands in rope to fight. Muay Boran fighters used their fists, elbows, knees, legs and their heads for headbutting.

The rules for Muay Thai were adapted and it was found that use of the head should not be allowed.......and this was the birth of the ring sport and art we have today. There are many practitioners of Muay Thai around the world. Many people travel to Thailand to spend time in one of it's famous Muay Thai camps.

Muay Thai has the pre-fight ritual called the 'Wai Kru' and then the dance in the ring called the 'Ram Muay'. Each gym has it's own Ram Muay depending on where the teacher has been taught. Muay Thai fighters are some of the most respected combatants in the world. Muay Thai is a proven art and is one of the chosen striking arts for fighters in MMA.
